SOLD 12/15/21
Available now (12/13/21) just in time for Christmas is a super clean, never rusty 1985 Jeep CJ7 from California with a 258 6 Cylinder and a Howell EFI kit
Have you ever gone to one of those big fancy glamerous dealer websites to see 100 pictures of something showing you pretty much nothing other than shiny paint at every angle and NOT showing you what you need to see to make a good decision?
Check this out....
Original floors in original paint...
Original shiny paint in the wheel wells....
Ok, so that's impressive right? How about shiny original paint underneath...
There are so many CJs out there that shops are restoring or are calling restored....Why? Mostly because they were rusty, beat hulks. If your Jeep runs great and needs a frame, and a tub and fenders and windshield frame and....you worked harder and spent more to get less than starting here..An original Jeep is better than a restored one on most every day. Fix what breaks, start with good metal. Paint it if it isn't shiny enough for most people. Any Jeep can be made to run well, that is the easy part. Dang this is simple.
In reality, it is getting harder to make things this simple as Jeeps this clean are getting more and more difficult to find and they cost more and more. This Jeep had a nice driver quality repaint some time ago undoubtedly due to fading from the California sun. It is very presentable with zero bubbling rust anywhere and less than expected blemishes. FYI, this would make for a nice Renegade if you wanted to decal it up. All it would need is rocker trim. The steering wheel and wheels are Renegade correct. Some people like stickers, some don't. Renegades are stickered up Jeeps. Laredos are a package.
Note this has 5 new 33x10.50r15 BFG AT Tires on original rims w really nice center caps. Also, a small, tasteful, newer 2.5" lift with shocks. It has poly bushings, firm feel power steering gear box and newer steering stabilizer and newer tie rod ends.
Original seats in nice condition. Rear is a fold and tumble. Nice locking steel center console far superior to what came in it.
Original tilt steering column, original wheel with horn button and all original gauges working except it has an aftermarket volt meter. I can include one with the sale or swap it out if you'd prefer. Dash is uncracked. Has one of those new retro 2 post radios in it. 5 Speed transmission and Dana 300 work as they should
Nice clean dry 258 Engine w a Howell EFI kit which is far better than the original Carb. The original 6 digit odometer shows 150k and the engine runs well. That wouldn't happen with an AMC V8. Chrysler kept the 6 when they bought AMC and scrapped the V8. They used the 258 bones until 2006...20 years after the purchase of the company.
EFI cleans up the engnine bay and takes out the considerations of pumping a carb when it is cold, hot, sideways etc. By the way, original paint under the hood too...
This drives well and everything works. Comes as shown. All tops and doors available for extra.
Thanks for reading and...
Merry Christmas
from Rudy and Ranger!
