SALE PENDING 3/11/18
I sold this Jeep locally to a great guy about 6 years ago soon after I moved into my second shop.
I'm now in my 3rd shop and was thrilled Matt called me to offer this Jeep back to me becuase his new job was taking him somewhere he didn't think he could keep his Jeep and enjoy it.
I paid him more that he paid me for it 5 years ago as the value has gone up, he took care of it AND also did some nice things as well.
It now has only 100k original miles which is about 3k miles per year.
This is an original rot free CJ. I have a couple pictures of it archived in tired original faded paint without rot. 6 years later, the paint looks this good and would be a serious contestant if you are a show goer.
I wish everyone would read this and absorb the words instead of glossing over it as sales blabbering. I am not a salesman.
Restating, I paid this gentleman significantly more than he paid me for this Jeep. I knew it was good quality. 6 years later, the paint looks great. I knew there was no body work to shrink and fall out. Good Jeeps are investments. I see non specific classic car shops selling lipstick pigs with shiny paint and stickers and feel bad for the buyers of such things. The reality is, there is only one of me, supply is limited and not everyone can get one of my Jeeps.
Shiny, slick, hacked over quickie jobs are not values. They are more like body slimming t-shirts instead of an exercize routine.
Now onto to details about this Jeep.
All Metal. No patches. Original black frame from 1985. Good running 6 cylinder with a 4 speed and power steering.
This has a 4.5" USA MAde BDS Lift kit. This in not a cheap, Rough Country, Superlift, or Rancho kit. It rides better and has military wrap springs.
It has like new 33x12.50 USA Made Cooper tires on USA made wheels. These very same wheels are sold for a few bucks cheaper and Made in China in a different brand. I don't do that when I have a choice like so many businesses. These are American Eagle brand. FYI...American Racing wheels are made in China.
Bigger tires change the rpm band of the Jeep and the greatest feature of this Jeep is the 4.10 gears it has. It has appropriate power at take off and on the highway. Gear swaps in both differentials would cost somewhere around $2k and few people want to spend this. This Jeep was originally a 4 cylinder and if you know these jeeps, you know that all the 4 cylinders got better gears than the 6 cylinders to make up for the lower HP. This means these differentials have USA made gears in them. Almost all new ring and pinions are Chinese as are most bearings. This really is the best scenario.
Matt did the interior on this with top of the line Pro style Bestop reclining seats with adjustable headrests showing no wear.
He also added a nice locking center console
All gauges and lights working
I did a full pro Linex on the floor 6 years ago and it looks like it was just done. The do it yourself stuff costs a fraction of this and peels, fades and looks like you did it yourself.
The engine is detailed with an improved, less problematic non competer controlled carb.
These are not sexy pictures but are important. The underside of this Jeep is not slathered in new undercoating. It is original from 32 years ago....
Matt added the stainless tube bumpers. They have a bling factor. If you like them, great, if you don't, they come off in 15 minutes and I can make the rear stock naked and add a rectangle front easily.
Rear has a hitch built into it
Bestop softop is like new and has like new tinted windows included. If you want a hard top in addition or in lieu of the soft top, just call to discuss. That's easy.
This is a a done Jeep like a lucky few get me to finish for them at a few dollars cheaper than usual if it fits you.
Thanks for reading and looking.
