This is an uncommonly nice bodied (and frame) 1981 Jeep Scrambler that was in the same family for decades.
It has no bubbling rot or repair.
It has become extremely rare to find a CJ8 with all good metal and priced this fairly.
It has shiny metal floors up front with the most minor surface rust where there is anything.
The bed is all original metal metal with no big deflections from hauling boulders. It has an older bedliner in it but at least it soffocated the metal from rust causing oxygen. No oxygen, no rust.
The seats are original an not torn. It has dealer installed AC but it's negative 3 here right now. I would expect it to need attention. Dash pad looks good. Nice original steering wheel and hard doors.
The underside has no flaky crunchy rust like most Jeeps and of course the frame is mostly black from the factory 36 years ago. Also, no new undercoating recently slathered on by a common "classic car" dealer. I've owned well over one hundred Scramblers in my time doing this. I know what a quality Jeep looks like
Nice hitch installed
HD Shackles installed and about a 4" lift
BTW, that is an original chrome front bumper in better than expected condition. Not the common Chinese replacement Stainless one.
It does have power steering, power brakes, upgraded valve cover and an upgraded Weber carb for easier starting with an electric choke.
The original wheels and center caps are in better than expected condition and holding 5 32x11.50 BFG AT Tires.
The paint on this Jeep is flawed but respectable. Most people ewould find it perfect to drive and enjoy. If you ever did want to paint it, there won't be any rust repair required.
The Jeep runs and drives as it should.
If you want a good Scrambler without spending a fortune, this seems like a no-brainer.
If you want a next level Scrambler, i will have one upcoming with a body off restoration for twice this amount later this Winter.
Thanks,
Rudy
