I am reluctantly selling my 30 year anniversary edition 21' 1986 Formula 206 Spider bowrider
The boat is stationed in Bluffton, Ohio right off I-75 but I still own my house in Delaware, Ohio near Columbus
When I bought the boat I was told there were only around 100 of these boats made but I don't recall ther exact number.
She is in great running condition and I used it for the one week and only time ending this Aug 14th up on the Georgian Bay in Ontario Canada for a family fun, ski, fishing trip where you don't see other boats and the water can turn bad. You have to be able to trust your equipment and this boat didn't fail me and never has. Not by chance but because it has been maintained and cared for.
Thunderbird Formula boats are premium made offshore performance boats with ahead of their time styling and performance. This 25 year old boat is always the focal point wherever it is because of the great look, gelcoat, lines and styling. In the water, on the highway or in storage, no one ever believes how old it is because the styling is so timeless.
It has a 260 HP Mercruiser I/O 350 Chevy engine that runs perfect and used no oil SS Prop
Good working hydraulic engine hatch with chrome rod and mirror on underside of hatch. This is a trick boat right from the factory.
Newer Alpha Outdrive with professional receipt included for almost $4000. It was insurance replaced due to a fishing line incident.
Another recieipt included for $1300 for rebuilt carb and more.
Needs nothing.
It cruises easily over 40 mph with lots of rpm left. I've never tried to max the boat out. Blowing stuff up isn't my thing! I mean really, is 57 mph @ 6000 rpm over 45 mph worth needing a new engine?! Maybe I got old.
This boat is solid due to its design and does not rattle or shake when it hits waves due to the unique arch contruction on the bow. My experience is that 20' boats pull easily behind 1/2 ton trucks and cuddy cabins in boats smaller than 24' are too small to use so I always opt for open bows. I had this boat out on the big lake with 7 adults. 6 of them were fishing with live bait and casting rods. Try that on a cuddy boat!
I spent over $1000 on the interior last year not because the interior was junk but because it had minor flaws and the rest of the boat is so nice. Floors are perfect.
It has always been a freshwater boat and is originally from Michigan and stored indoors for storage.
I loaded it by myself last week easily with the made for the boat Eagle tandem axle trailer with surge brakes. new tongue, jack and one year old Carlisle tires with classic original turbine wheels. Lights work fine and it pulls easily. I towed it 1300 miles in the last week. Has bearing buddies
Boat has a one year old marine battery.
I just did plugs, cap and rotor and oil change 2 weeks ago. Starts, idles, shifts, runs perfect. No leaks. Water or oil. power steering.
One year old fish / depth finder
Ship to Shore radio
One year old Kenwood CD player with 4 nice speakers
Guages all work
May trade for VW TDI or Original Clean Jeep CJ or TJ wrangler. No YJs please.
