$35,000 w soft top and 2 piece soft doors...less without!
Back from the hangar after 4 years ...always rot free 1983 Jeep Cj7 Renegade 6 Cyl 5 speed.
Not sure where to start...this is buy back Jeep from one of my past customers circa 2018. He moved and couldn't take it with him. He called me and because he'd taken care of it AND I knew I sold him a quality Jeep with awesome original metal and due to appreciation, I was able to give him his purchase price back.
I wish I could reach everyone everytime with this reality. If you buy quality and take care of it, you aren't really spending money but instead putting it into the form of something to be played with and then returned back into money when you are done.
It genuinely makes me happy to give a buyer all their money back. I provided a good value, they cared for it, enjoyed it and returned it after a period of time and we can do it again.
This Jeep has a write up on my site HERE.
Pretty cool right? Man, I'm glad I bet on myself and quit my real job 15 years ago to do start this business. Thank GOD for allowing me the health and stamina to do this by myself all this time. I've met so many cool people and been so many places. Don't tell anyone but it isn't about the Jeeps for me...it's about the freedom. I like the Jeeps, I love the freedom. Freedom has a cost. This Colonel and his comrads protect our freedom and make my life possible.
Thank you to all of our service men and women isn't enough....but
THANK YOU!
More about the Jeep.... Its a strong running 6 cylinder with a 5 speed manual trans and a Weber. Like most Webers, it runs a bit rich but really adds power to the engine. This 6 cylinder really rips. Power Steering and brakes. Optima battery and a JEEP stamped aluminum valve cover.
The interior has nice original seats that the Colonel had covers on to preserve them.
It has all original gauges in working condition....ok, lets address this here as usualy people ask.....yes, everything works...heat, wipers, lights, etc etc. It has a far superior USA made Tuffy center console to secure valuables. Please stop buying the knock of ones like the Tuffy (i.e. Rugged Ridge) that ar made in China for a few bucks less.
People these days are hung on originality...having had hundreds of them, the original consoles are useless and pretty much for looks only. They barely hold an old school can of pepsi and want to break if you look at them wrong.
Factory tilt steering. Floor is professionally color matched Lined to make it useable and to preserve the original sheet metal from rusting. No air to the metal, no oxygen...no rust. No scratches on a painted floor and no caprpet to hold moisture VERY rare original soft top type dash pad not cracked (notice the ends aren't notched for hard door wing windows)
Jeep shows just under 150k miles on the origial 6 digit odometer and title reads NOT actual as the mileage is less due to towing. The odometer keeps turning as the Jeep is pulled behind an RV. How much less I can't say but it runs and drives well and has never been rusty like a 6000 mile original Ohio plow Jeep. Miles are not the most important thing. The metal is always the most important thing. If you don't think that is true, try building a CJ with crappy aftermarket imported metal that a 6000 mile plow Jeep needs....along with a frame, brake lines, fuel lines...etc etc etc.
This was painted back in 2018 by one of my shops and is a respectable driver quality paint job w few defects and nice Phoenix Graphics decals re-applied. This Jeep was never rusty and was mostly chipped up from being towed which is also why it has new windshield glass. Notice the original windshiled frame. It must've been an early 83 as most had one rib. Chinese ones always have one or 2 ribs as the metal is so flimsy the wiper linkage will tear them apart without reinforcement.
Note the greasable shackles....This Jeep has one really awesome upgrade which is a YJ spring conversion. It is one of the only things a YJ ever did better than a CJ (excepting late efi and some galvanized tubs). YJ springs are 2.5" wide at all four corners which makes for flatter and more stable handling. CJ springs are 2" wide up front. This is a now discontinued kit from either OLD Man Emu or Rubicon Express. Either company made a really nice product,
Original wheels blasted and recoated with pinstripe, oem center caps and still like new 5 BFG AT tires.
This soft top was new when installed in 2018 with 2 piece soft doors and still looks nearly new today. Original tire carrier and recoated original rocker trim.
Note, the nice welded receiver hitch for hauling bikes etc...
Underside is original with a factory black frame and no undercoated slathered floors. That is 40 year old original metal under that Jeep with no flaky rot. It is easy to bomb the underside of anything with undercoating and make it look uniform however you can't tell what you are getting. This is good metal shown here that was never really painted by the factory...That frame however is still factory black from 1983.
This is a really great old CJ owned by a fighter jet pilot and before that it was used to chase gold in the mountians out West. That's pretty cool. Call to make it yours and keep using it to make more history with it.
Thank you, Rudy 614-203-1947
