1986 Jeep CJ7 100% Rot Free budget built and delivered in about 8 weeks
This was a unique situation in that a very nice caller had been seeking a rot free white automatic for a while. He was kindly persistent in contacting me for this unicorn. This Jeep came to me and was white and rot free but faded and had a good Jeep life and also a stick shift.
I took it apart and had all the metal media blasted, blocked and sealed and waiting for me to pick a color. White was never on my radar. Kevin called checking in and asked about it. We talked enough and agreed I'd make it for him. It was Oct 1st and I promised it by Christmas. I had a couple snags and all the parts sales I have or it would've been done Nov 15th. It was done and delivered by the end of Nov. I work alone but don't want people chasing me like I hear of in other shops or have had to do in my life. Everything in my shop runs or is being worked on. I don't have half finished this and thats. I hate dead stuff. If it's dead, part it out or fix it.
If you're working on it, finish it.
Kevin and I were on the same page and I gave him a choice list to pick from like: EFI or Carb. Rebuilt or used 258. Color, Auto or manual transmission, useless, expensive original console or quality USA made Tuffy, steering wheel, Power or manual brakes, Seat choice, accent piece colors like rocker trim, mirrors, hood catches and wheels, tires and suspension.
It's easier for me to finish things than other shops as I have all the original parts in bins in my shop and I start with good things. I work with good shops and I pay them fairly for good work.
I am blessed by God to have my health and such a nice shop to work in
The attached photos were Kevin's vision as a budget build by me. It is not a full restoration and still retains most of its USA made parts unlike a full restoration people think they want that throws away the original stuff to be replaced with Asian crap. It adds tons of labor and build an Asian Jeep with crappy metal and quality for a premium price.
Thank you Kevin for working with me and letting me build this for you and your family.
