service by rudy 2025

Rudy and my new friend Matt in his finished CJ

Matt was a tub buyer from me about 6 years ago (driver).  He took his rusty Jeep apart with the best of intentions and  started a restoration.  Before completion, a full life started w a great family and demanding job.  His time was pulled in more important directions and the Jeep project sat idle.  He called me (passenger seat) and tolerated me and my reluctance for service.  He tolerated my inflexibility and opinions.  We came to an agreement and I drove to Minnesota with Ranger  and we piled into my enclosed trailer a pile of partially restored disassembled Jeep.  After a couple months (slow due to it being snowmobile season as both of us are sledders), the above Jeep was completed.  Matt sent me pictures thru the Summer of he and his family enjoying it.   It's one of the best things I got to do last year.

Dave's not running burnt patina Cj7

Dave bought this completely rot free dusty  but not rusty Cj7 from me about 12 years ago (one of the first Jeeps in my 3rd shop).  HE LOVES THIS CJ.  Ck out his license plate.   Sadly, it burnt down this Summer (2025).  We thought it was done and he was going to trade it to me for my Laredo currently for sale.  I went to see his burnt Jeep to give him a trade value for parts.  I could see why he liked it.  I liked it too. We made a plan. His insurance company totaled it, cut him a check and he bought it back.  Ranger, Wylie and I drove down and loaded it up.

In about 1 week I had it done and shortly thereafter back to him in running condition.  I have all the oem parts in stock and the repetitious experience to get things done.  It was rewarding to get his Jeep back to him.

Do you remember the A team?  I'm not as big as BA and I'm not afraid to fly.  I have zero charm like Face (I'm painfully direct and blunt).  I'm only a little crazy like Murrdock as I've rolled my Jeep a few times, I ride sleds and raced a car in a 300 lap enduro the last couple years (I'm 56).  I don't smoke cigars or wear disguises like the Colonel.  I do however have some nice rides, a special set of skills and a well equipped and parts stocked 76-86 Jeep CJ shop.

As the intro went (sort of), if you have a Jeep CJ problem, no one else can solve it and you and I are likeminded, maybe we can get your CJ back on the road

The 76-86 Jeep CJ service situation has to be right for both of us.  I have a full time job doing my own Jeeps to sell and another full time job selling all my used parts.  The cool part of those 2 full time jobs is they are done on my schedule w no deadlines or quotas to meet.  I do still need food, shelter and kibble for Ranger and Wylie.  Life is expensive and being a sole proprietor Jeep CJ shop owner isn't a get rich quick scheme.  This work costs money.  It keeps me from my other 2 jobs that support me.  I'd like this to be a charity but it isn't.

I don't need the work

I want to help

...and gain the fulfillment of helping with the unique skillset I've gained after so many years.

This service has to be meaningful.

I only want to work with someone who is Jeep happy and Jeep laid back.

What does than mean?  I want to help people who want to drive, use and enjoy their CJ.

Maybe someone trying to save a memory of a lost loved one or even better, a living first responder or vet that needs a hand.

While capable of producing them, I don't want to work on show Jeeps whos primary purpose is to be discussed and looked at instead of being used.

Show Jeeps don't bring me joy.

Rudy

I'm closer to the end of this ride than the beginning.  I'm a sole proprietor which means I do everything in my shop.  The wonderful body GOD blessed me with is wearing out.  I've been working with CJs full and part time for the greater part of my life and it has taken its toll.

I can't fix everyones Jeep and I will not stack them 5 deep waiting for someday and people chasing me with deadlines.  I will start one.  I will finish that one.  I may take a break when completed and then hopefully repeat.

If you read all this, think we might be on the same page, please give me a call to discuss.

Thank you
