Miles unknown as it was towed

I bought this beautiful CJ7 from the original owner in the mid 2010s.  It looked very much like it does now with stone chips on the front and mild topside fading from the sun.  I had the topside front repainted and correct decals reapplied.  The windshield is the first place for a CJ to rust and this one is original paint and rot free.  If you've followed me for these nearly 20 years, I buy a lot of my Jeeps back if they've been cared for and there is room for me to profit.  I sold this circa 2016 and the gentleman who bought it had his time w it and sold it back to me for what he paid early 2019.

I sold it again I think just before Covid where it sat in a climate controlled collector shop in Illinois with other classics.  That gentlemen was moving out of state and attempting to downsize, called me and I bought it back and I believe it was for the price paid or very close.  Nice CJs appreciate.  This one has been driven less than 2000 miles since 2016 as I had the local Jeep dealer do the rear main seal before I sold it (receipt included in the giant stack)

This is a nice CJ.  I'd buy all I could find like this but there just aren't many left.

Look at the front floors that most sellers just show carpet.  That is original paint.  The underside isn't dressed w undercoating.

The seats have not been recovered.  I do not know how many miles are actually on the Jeep as it was towed and the odometer keeps turning and therefore the title says TMU.  The seats and the overall condition tell the story.

It is way straighter than it should be excepting AMC factory spot welds and one ding shown on the windshield frame.  It could be fixed but you have to look for it and I think there is more value in the original paint.

This is the last of the CJs which got the best rear differential of the Dana 44 as AMC ran out of Model 20s and couldn't finish production.

It comes w stacks of receipts that are mostly smog, and one for rebuilding the T5.  It also has the original selling invoice, owners manual and original keys and keychain.

The engine starts easily and runs like a smog equipment laden CJ does.  It is covered in OEM inefficiencies from 1986 that people think they want pleading for originality.  As a courtesy to the new buyer I'd be willing to help declutter and improve this fine machine but it works as it sits.

    It drives and brakes well.

Everything works except the factory cruise control.  Yes, that was an option and no, I've never seen one work BUT it appears everything is there if someone wants to fight with it.

The original wheels are VERY nice

The tires are good (except the spare) but are older and NOT showing signs of their age BUT I think they should be changed simply due to age.  I am glad to replace all 5 to the new owners preference of size and brand or give $1500 off the sale price.

All tops and doors options are available but is is sold as shown.

This is a wonderful unrestored survivor CJ7 w good driver quality paint to be enjoyed.  This is light years ahead of any CJ that needed to be restored using marginal Omix, Crown etc reproduction parts.  The metal is exceptional esp compared to the latest trend of now buying Brazilian imported sheet metal and splicing a body together.  My understanding is these bodies are better than the worse than bad Philippine bodies.  Sad state of affairs when a CJ is built from Brazilian tubs and Asian flimsy windshield frames.

I would keep this for myself but it is to shiny for me.  I prefer faded paint and more dents (see part of my patina collection listed on this site).

    Please call to discuss anything.

    Thank you!
