    1979 Silver Anniversary CJ5 $55,000

1979 Silver anniversary Jeep CJ5 always rot free from Nevada

This is understood to be the rarest and best configuration of the 79 Silver CJ5

They made about 1000 Silver CJ5s and almost all of them had the odd 3 speed.  This is one of the few to be ordered with the best transmission ever put in any CJ.  The 1979 T18a 4 speed rated for 2 ton trucks.  The T18a only had 3 years of production and 79 is my favorite with reverse down and to the right...where it should be.  77 and 78 had it up which seems weird.

I acquired this from the desert of Nevada early this year where it had been used as a Jeep in the desert.  It was rot free and faded.  It received a body off treatment and correct refinishing.

This is the nicest silver Anniversary Jeep CJ5 I have ever seen available for sale.  Most I've seen have the wrong wheels, no seats, they were rust buckets all patched up or 3 speeds.

This one has all 5 original chrome 15x8 wheels in better than expected condition w 4 new tires with tread as close to original as I could find.  The spare is the original unused spare tire holding air for nostalgia sake.

The original always rot free frame VIN is shown with the vin sequence number shown after blast and paint.

The seats were recovered by my upholsterers using the original button and they look amazing.

Original gauges all working.  Mileage is actual @ 60k.

Hood and fender have correct hand holds for narrow trac CJs as shown.  Original no rib windshield frame.

Original fat ended dash and rollover decaled visors.  Not repops.

Comes with original glove box door with silver emblem and another door w the new preproduction emblem on the Jeep (Thank you to Collins brothers for making these)

    OEM manuals (not reproduction)

OEM carpet in imperfect but way better condition than expected for being literally 46 years old.

Original seat belts (some still have 79 label on them as shown)

Correct VIN and labels on dash.

    Nice OEM rocker trim.

This  has the 258 which is the best engine available.  I understand the idea of a V8 as they sound and look good but in reality AMC V8s are problematic with inherent oiling issues and had a lot to do w AMC going out of business.  Mopar kept the basic AMC 6 until 2006 and dumped the AMC V8 as soon as it could.

There weren't many options available in 79 but this one has a tilt column, power brakes and power steering.

This is a very nice CJ and not built from boxes that say made in some Asian country.  It is original metal and not a repop body shipped in 15 weld together panels from Brazil or the Philippines.

I generally say no when asked if I'll ship overseas but I know this is a unique Jeep and therefore I'll consider it if you have your shipping in order.

Please call for any questions or to just make this one yours.

    Thank you!
