1986 Jeep CJ7 Renegade.
Jeep CJs were made by AMC and this CJ7 is part of the end of line for that company before Mopar took over in 1987. We know this because they ran out of the flawed Model 20 rear differentials midway thru 1986 and used Dana 44s in the rear to finish production. It has bigger tubes and one piece axles like every 4wd vehicle should. This Jeep has that rear.
This is the best of the last.
Beyond that it has uncommonly nice metal like you would expect from my shop. It is all original sheet metal and the floors are even original paint except for a touch up of paint only where the drivers feet rubbed the paint thin. The rest of what you see inside the Jeep and underhood is 39 year old original paint
It has my favorite original seats in better than expected condition with the CJ logo embossed in the high back front seats. Rear seat is the optional fold and tumble and near new. Factory uncracked dash pad is not a replacement. Steel dash is uncut and has the dealer installed 2 post radio working. Nice OEM center console which I would gladly swap out for a better made in USA Tuffy unit if you'd like something more useful to lean on, hold modern drinkware and be securable.
Engine runs better than new w the tried and true simple Howell EFi for easy starting and tolerance to ethanol fuel.
Jeep has only 88k original miles on the factory 6 digit odometer
Goes down the road like it should w new suspension bushings
5 speed manual overdrive trans and Dana 300 transfer case work as they should. If you love the Jeep and needed it to be an automatic I have several OEM Auto kits I can swap in like the factory did it and it would look stock.
5 hard to find OEM 15x7 chrome wheels and brand new 31 BFG AT tires. Did you ever notice most people selling Jeeps have crappy knock off Chinese Costco tires on them?
Paint and body is nice driver quality with all factory spot welds visible so you know it isn't a patched together pile of bondo so you have an investment and not an expenditure.
Frame is of course original rot free and factory black in places.
Factory options include power steering, power brakes, Tilt steering column, factory rear draw bar for towing and 20 gallon fuel tank
Of course coming from my shop, everything works and its all OEM gauges.
This Jeep is as nice as my Oregon CJ for sale at this time.
Any tops, doors, lift kits etc can be done.
